San Francisco based artist Ellen Little grew up in Los Angeles and earned her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena CA. Upon graduating she moved to New York to work in advertising and teach at the School of Visual Arts. Next she moved to San Francisco and started the graphic design firm, Little Design Group. In 2009 she left Little Design Group to pursue her passion for painting. In 2017 Ellen built Dogpatch Collective a community of 17 artist studios in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco.
Her large scale watercolors have been exhibited in museums and galleries including De Young Museum, Napa Valley Museum, David Brower Center, Milton Art Museum, Marin Museum of Contemporary Art and Triton Museum. Ellen’s work is included in many private collections as well as the public collections of UCSF Mission Bay, San Francisco CA, University of Iowa, Iowa city IA, Phipps Conservatory Pittsburgh PA, Kaiser Permanente Dublin CA and Redwood City CA.
